Dear InfoBase Subscribers,
For nearly a year InfoBase's designers and programmers have been wrestling with integrating the government's FedBizOpps service into DACIS.
From the beginning the decision was made that this would not be just another DACIS module. We set out to create a feature set that would give you unprecedented visibility into your government customers. And we decided to create an interface that would allow you to rapidly access every nook and cranny of the extensive service that resulted—while never losing track of where you'd been.
We're pleased with, and very proud of, the service this process created, and encouraged by your response to it. And now, with work on FedBizOpps at last winding down, we're faced with the question: what next?
The answer has come back: take what we've learned from the FedBizOpps drill, and fold it into the rest of the DACIS service.
Today I'm happy to unveil the first fruits of that initiative: a revamp of our ReportGenerator. We think you'll find it to be more intuitive, more interactive, and more capable.
Much more is on the way. The changes we're preparing will touch each and every one of the DACIS modules. (And the Profiles service, and Sitewide Search.) You're going to be seeing improved design, new capabilities, faster speed, and more.
We expect this process to go on for the next year... but you won't have to wait that long to see the outcome. In our usual fashion, we'll be rolling out the changes as we go.
So many of you say that DACIS is your favorite industry website. We couldn't be happier about that—but we're never content
with that. I'm truly excited about what's to come in the next 12 months. My hope is that you'll enjoy the ride as well.
